Devastated Trader Blames NDC Government for Adum Fire (Video)

Kumasi, Ghana – A trader who lost his entire investment in a devastating fire outbreak yesterday, 21st March 2025, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of deliberately worsening the ongoing power crisis, known as “Dumsor,” in the Ashanti Region.

According to the distraught businessman, the fire, which ravaged shops and properties worth thousands of cedis, was triggered by erratic power supply.

He alleged that the NDC government is intentionally prolonging the crisis as a strategy to cripple businesses and weaken the region’s economy.

“This is not an accident. They know what they are doing. The Ashanti Region is suffering because of this government’s deliberate actions. They want to destroy our businesses,” he lamented.

The claim has further fueled tensions, as many residents and business owners have long complained about the impact of Dumsor on their livelihoods.

The government has yet to respond to these allegations, but the fire has reignited debates over the worsening power situation and its devastating effects on businesses.

Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the fire, while affected traders continue to count their losses.
