Renowned Ghanaian disc jockey and producer DJ Mensah has unveiled a new state-of-the-art recording facility, PlayHouse Music Studio, in Accra, positioning it as a hub for creative talent across the country.
The launch event, held on May 3, drew a strong turnout from leading figures in Ghana’s entertainment industry, including award-winning rapper Sarkodie, alongside artistes, DJs, media personalities and comedians.
Located in East Legon, the studio has been equipped to cater for a wide range of creative needs, including music recording, live band rehearsals, podcast production and voice-over work.
The facility also offers services such as mixing and mastering, beat production and sales, as well as training opportunities for young talents in instruments such as piano, drums and guitar.
Industry players say the addition of such a fully equipped space is expected to enhance production quality and provide a professional environment for both emerging and established creatives.
Speaking at the event, DJ Mensah said the initiative was aimed at supporting the growth of Ghana’s music ecosystem and creating opportunities for up-and-coming artistes.
“We have the best of equipment for artists and everyone to record. We are opening our doors to upcoming artists,” he said.
He added that the studio would also serve producers looking for a conducive environment to create and market their work, noting, “Producers can come in, we are selling beats as well.”
Sarkodie, who attended the launch, commended the initiative and encouraged artistes to take advantage of the facility.
He said the studio’s setup and ambience would contribute to improving the quality of music production in the country, describing it as a valuable addition to the industry.
With flexible booking options and modern equipment, PlayHouse Music Studio is expected to play a key role in nurturing talent and strengthening Ghana’s position in the global music landscape.
