Ghana mbabunu 3nyinaa, in the AI-era with its many exciting possibilities and at a juncture in history when young Africans across the continent have the unprecedented opportunity to leverage markets in all sectors of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and prosper from creating shared value wealth for themselves, as well as helping value chain stakeholder communities to thrive by generating jobs in the process – Jeff Bezos’ advice to GenZ youth to seek jobs first, before embarking on their entrepreneurial start-up journeys, is sound, paaaapa ooooo: especially as it comes from a hugely successful global business icon, who founded the corporate behemoth, Amazon.

That said, Ghanafuor, the question to ponder over as wise and aspirational Africans keen to see the successful resetting of Ghana’s bankrupted national economy is: Why do our leaders not transform the present-day National Service – established by Ghanaian officialdom as an organisational vehicle for the graduates of our tertiary institutions to give back to society through internships positively impacting communities nationwide in fields such as teaching for example – into a new Workers Brigade akin to the one which gave jobs to young people during the era of our first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, regardless of educational background?

Will it not also provide Ghana with patriotic youth trained by the military, who have had discipline instilled into them, and thus will always be ready to come to their Motherland Ghana’s aid, should a foreign power want to occupy and recolonise our sovereign territory, some day, I ask? Haaba.

Finally, in light of that mooted job creation idea outlined above, Ghanafuor, one says to all our Motherland Ghana’s brightest and best amongst our younger generations’ cohorts of budding ambitious would-be entrepreneurs: “Over to you, Joe Lartey!” A word to the wise
