Domestic blaze at Tse Addo destroys wooden structures

A domestic fire that broke out at Tse Addo, opposite God Super Church, in the Greater Accra Region on Friday, January 9, 2026, has been successfully contained, preventing further damage to surrounding properties.

According to details shared by the Ghana National Fire Service on Facebook, the fire was reported at 8:01 a.m., prompting an immediate emergency response.

Firefighters, led by Assistant Divisional Officer II (ADO II) Kelvin Ntreh, arrived at the scene at 8:08 a.m., just a few minutes after the alarm was raised.

The blaze was brought under control by 8:32 a.m. and was completely extinguished at 10:36 a.m. No injuries or fatalities were recorded during the incident.

According to the post, the fire caused significant damage, leading to the total destruction of nine wooden structures and their contents. In addition, one metal container and its contents were partially damaged.

Despite the extent of the destruction, emergency responders were able to salvage a chamber-and-hall self-contained building, the God Super Church, and assorted foodstuffs, thereby limiting the overall impact of the incident.

The operation was supported by two additional fire engines deployed from the Ministries Fire Station and the Military Fire Unit, which helped to reinforce efforts at the scene and prevent the fire from spreading further.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
