Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama, has hosted the Secretariat of the 24HR+ Economy for a high-level strategic engagement aimed at aligning monetary policy tools with national development priorities.

The meeting, held at the central bank’s headquarters, focused on exploring areas of shared policy interest as Ghana advances efforts to build a more integrated, resilient, and self-reliant economic architecture.

Key issues discussed included potential mechanisms to expand financing for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), strategies to stabilise food prices, approaches to managing foreign exchange risks and opportunities to drive financial innovation across the economy.

The Governor, on his part, noted that while the Bank’s core mandate remains anchored on maintaining price stability and ensuring financial system soundness, the engagement created room to assess how existing instruments within its legal and policy frameworks could be deployed to complement broader national development objectives.

He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to structured dialogue, data-driven decision-making, and institutional independence as it collaborates with stakeholders to support Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.
