Ghanaian radio presenter, Abdul Karim, widely recognized as Nana Romeo, has come forward with a heartfelt apology for the remarks he made in connection with the devastating accident that led to the untimely passing of two young girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, as a result of the actions of Bishop Salifu Amoako’s son.
The tragic incident, which transpired on Saturday, October 12, 2024, shook many in the community, prompting discussions on the subject during UTV’s United Showbiz program aired on October 19, 2024.
During this program segment, Nana Romeo spoke about the concept of death in Islam, underlining the belief that life and death are under the divine control of Allah (God).
Reflecting on his Islamic faith, Nana Romeo emphasized the deeply rooted belief that life and death are orchestrated by a divine plan, thus cautioning against questioning the circumstances of someone’s passing.
However, following a backlash in the aftermath of his comments, the Accra FM presenter felt compelled to clarify his intentions, expressing that his words were not intended to add to the grieving family’s pain but rather stemmed from his religious perspective and understanding.
In a plea for understanding and forgiveness, Nana Romeo acknowledged that his remarks may have been misconstrued by some and sought reconciliation through this clarification.
He also shared his genuine sorrow over the tragic event, further illustrating his empathy and regret for any unintended hurt his words may have caused, underscoring his compassion and concern for the affected families and community at large.
