A late-night fire tore through parts of Ability Square in the Adjiringano enclave of Accra, destroying several homes and extending its reach to the Afri Royal Hotel, a hospitality facility owned by actress Yvonne Okoro. The incident occurred on Friday, November 14, 2025, and quickly drew attention due to the intensity of the blaze and the number of structures affected.
Short video clips circulating online show heavy flames consuming buildings in the area, with the hotel visibly caught in the middle of the inferno. The situation triggered an emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service, which deployed four fire engines from Legon, Madina, the National Headquarters, and Adenta stations in an effort to stop the fire from spreading further.
Emergency crews worked to bring the flames under control while residents looked on in distress as parts of the community were reduced to charred rubble. Although the blaze was severe, there were no immediate reports of injuries or fatalities, and authorities had yet to determine what sparked the incident.
Details surrounding the cause of the fire remain unclear, and further updates are expected as officials continue with assessments and investigations. More information will be shared as developments unfold.
