Suspects reportedly connected to the theft of five Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) are currently being held by the police, according to confirmation from the Electoral Commission (EC).
The EC’s Director of Electoral Services, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, disclosed this information in an April 13 interview on JoyNews’ Newsfile monitored by News & Vibes.
He said that in order to assure responsibility for the theft of state property, the EC took the necessary action.
According to Dr. Quaicoe, the police started looking into the missing BVDs about a month ago after the EC officially reported them missing. He underlined that in order to properly handle the situation, a full investigation and legal actions are essential.
