The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) asserts that the technical challenges the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) is experiencing are related to the current spate of prolonged power outages in various parts of the country.
Due to the lengthy blackouts that many ECG customers have encountered—more than twelve hours in certain cases—there is a widespread call for the creation of a load shedding schedule.
According to an official announcement from the ECG, GRIDCo, the nation’s electricity transmission company, is dealing with technical problems that are the root cause of the current outages.
The impacted townships are Teacher Mante, Amanase, Akote, Amanhyia, Nankesi Towns, Koforidua, Okorase, Osabene, Mile 50, Akim Tafo, Bunso, Osiem, Hemang, Begoro, Asesewa, Kibi, Asiakwa, Apedwa, Suhum, and Akim Tafo’s surrounding settlements.
The ECG notified the affected consumers that power restoration work would begin as soon as GRIDCo’s technical faults were fixed, notwithstanding the fact that this caused considerable difficulty.
