The statue of Barimah Osei Hwedie II

The Ejura Divisional Council has unveiled a stunning statue in honour of the renowned chief, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II.

The statue, standing tall at one of the community’s main entrances, is a testament to the chief’s selfless, hardworking, and visionary leadership that has driven development in Ejura and its environs.

Speaking at the unveiling event on Saturday, December 28, 2025, the Queen Mother for Ejura, Nana Akua II, hailed Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II for leading the divisional council with respect, dignity, and vision.

“Barimah Osei Hwedie II is such a humble, unifier, and respectful. He always moves with the traditional council in all matters relating to the community,” she said.

“Barimah has always recognised me, given me more than I deserve, and the good thing is that his council members and residents have seen his unparalleled work and given him the needed support.”

Following the unveiling, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II expressed gratitude to the people of Ejura for recognising the work he has done since his enstoolment a decade ago.

He hailed God Almighty for guiding his path, protecting Ejura, and maintaining peace in the community during his decade of rule.

“I prayed to God for guidance and direction, and He did, protected me in this decade of rule,” he said.

“It’s been 10 years since I swore an oath in front of my father, the Asante Mamponghene, to serve as the leader of Ejura.”

Barimah Osei Hwedie II assured that he will continue leading Ejura and ensure the area develops.
