According to the Commission, the new adjustment comes under its quarterly tariff review process, a system designed to reflect fluctuations in economic and operational factors that shape the cost of delivering utilities.

Among these are the Ghana cedi’s performance against the dollar, local inflation levels, fuel expenses—especially natural gas—and the balance of energy sources used for electricity generation.

The PURC explained that such reviews are crucial to prevent erosion of tariff value and to ensure that utility companies remain financially capable of maintaining and expanding their services.

The regulator also pledged to continue monitoring the operations of these providers, enforcing compliance with set standards, and pushing for efficiency and improved service delivery to consumers.
