Gospel artist Empress Gifty recently uncovered that her latest hit, “Watch Me,” was penned and gifted to her by renowned Lynx Entertainment artist Kuami Eugene.
In a recent appearance on UTV’s “United Showbiz,” where she stood in for MzGee as host, Empress Gifty explained how the track came into her possession.
She recounted receiving a call from Kuami Eugene, who suggested she should record the song he had written.
Following this, Gifty took the song to spiritual advisors for their blessing before deciding to release it. Her decision was validated by these advisors, leading to the song’s launch and subsequent success.
This disclosure from Empress Gifty aligns with earlier news from gospel singer Joyce Blessing, who had similarly revealed that Kuami Eugene wrote her song “Victory.”
These revelations highlight Eugene’s ongoing role in writing and gifting music to other prominent artists in the Ghanaian music industry.
It will be recalled that in 2023, in an interview with DJ Slim, award-winning musician Kuami Eugene shared his thoughts on the intersection of faith and music.
He encouraged Christians to be more open-minded and accepting of secular artists like himself who write songs for gospel musicians. Kuami Eugene believes that his songwriting skills are a gift from God and should be used to benefit all, regardless of genre.
He expressed frustration that some Christians criticize him for using his talents to help gospel artists, going against the teachings of the Bible.
