Energy Minister Dr John Jinapor honoured with SMRP International Leadership Award

‎The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Jinapor, has been honoured with the prestigious SMRP International Leadership Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership and global impact in advancing maintenance, reliability and asset management practices within the energy sector. 

Dr. John Jinapor was recognised for inspiring innovation and championing initiatives that strengthen reliability, sustainability and professional standards across the energy sector.

Accepting the award on behalf of Dr. Jinapor, Director of Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, Seth Mahu said, “this award, recognizes the role Dr. Jinapor is playing in transforming the energy sector; not only in Ghana, but across the entire African continent. This award symbolizes a bridge between Trinidad and Tobago and Ghana. We hope that with this award, the two countries would become much closer and will collaborate and cooperate in the area of energy transition for the mutual benefits of our people”.

‎‎The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals, SMRP Caribbean Chapter International leadership award is regarded as one of SMRP’s most prestigious awards. 

It celebrates individuals whose influence transcends their organisations and countries, promoting technical excellence, workforce development, safety standards and industry best practices for the benefit of communities and society at large.

This relationship is characterized by South-South cooperation, with Trinidad and Tobago serving as a key partner in developing Ghana’s domestic natural gas infrastructure and enhancing local content.
