The Emerging Public Leaders of Ghana (EPL Ghana) has commended Fellows at the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) and the Ghana Commodities Exchange (GCX) for their exceptional contributions to national growth and development.
During a series of visits to the two institutions on Tuesday, March 24, an EPL Ghana delegation, led by Ms. Juliet A. Amoah, expressed admiration for the Fellows’ unwavering commitment to impacting society and supporting the transformation of their respective organisations.
The visits were part of EPL Ghana’s efforts to engage directly with Fellows in the Emerging Leaders Public Service Fellowship Programme to learn about their experiences, growth journeys, and the meaningful contributions they are making to Ghana’s public sector.
The visit to WACSI provided valuable insight into the significant contributions and professional integration of EPL Ghana Fellows within the organisation. Engagements with senior leadership of WACSI, including Esther Ann Doku, Head of HR & Administration and Kwabena Krodua, Head of Finance, highlighted the Fellows’ strong work ethic, initiative and understanding of innovations that contribute to sustainability.
Deborah Abbey, a Fellow who supports strategic communications; Naa Ashorkor Ashitey, who plays an active role in stakeholder engagement and the execution of training and workshops; and Patrick Kofi Adu, who oversees knowledge management systems and organisational publications, were particularly commended for their high-impact contributions.
WACSI’s leadership emphasised that the EPL Public Service Fellows are not merely participants in a programme but are regarded as professionals making meaningful and measurable contributions to WACSI’s success.
The delegation also interacted with EPL Fellows at GCX, whose contributions have enhanced operational efficiency. Abel Okudjeto was acknowledged for developing software that enables the seamless delivery of food items, improving food delivery management in Senior High Schools. Henry Tei-Mensah Tetteh was also commended for redesigning the organisation’s website, which now runs seamlessly, while Lawrence Neequaye Kotey manages a critical dashboard that tracks progress and monitors the food distribution across schools.
The team also engaged mentors and supervisors of the programme. During the team’s time with officers from the Head of Civil Service, the Director for the Recruitment, Training & Development Directorate at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service (OHCS), Elizabeth Obeng-Yeboah, underscored the importance of sustained institutional partnerships in advancing effective governance and public service delivery.
The head of the Human Resources Department at GCX, Jemima Opong-Gyami, also encouraged the continuity of the Fellowship programme, citing its value to institutional growth and the promotion of public service delivery.
