Fake soldier nabbed after hiring okada rider for rounds and refusing to pay

In the Nkwanta South municipality of the Oti Region, authorities have apprehended a 27-year-old man, Abdul Majeed, for impersonating a military officer.

Majeed’s charade was exposed when he hired an okada rider for town rounds but refused to pay for the service. Instead, he took the unsuspecting rider to local chop bars, where he spent hours without settling the bills.

When pressed for payment, Majeed directed the rider to accompany him to the military barracks.

Officials from the military intervened after the irate motorcyclist confronted Majeed, who was clad in military uniform. To the surprise of all, Majeed turned out to be a fake rather than a soldier.
