A fresh wave of controversy has surrounded the memory of late Kumawood actor King Aboagye Brenya after footage of his family surfaced online, revealing a heated legal dispute over his estate. The actor, who passed away in September 2021, left behind a family structure that has now become the subject of an intense court case in Kumasi.

Recent videos circulating on social media show his wives and children at the Kumasi High Court, where the battle over his properties has been ongoing for the last four years. King Brenya reportedly married three women during his lifetime, and two of the wives—along with children from the second household—are challenging how his assets were distributed after his passing.

In the footage, one of the children insists that the woman identified as the actor’s third wife, Grace Yeboah, was not legally married to him. He alleges that she originally worked in the household as a maid and later gained control over key properties, including a house and a school, which the family is now trying to reclaim. The family contends that a will presented after his death contained signatures that did not match the late actor’s, raising suspicions about its authenticity.

Grace Yeboah, however, maintains a completely different account. She insists she was properly married to the actor and had lived with him as his wife for about twelve years before his death. She also revealed that she was arrested shortly after the actor’s burial due to accusations from the children regarding alleged document manipulation. A district court eventually cleared her of all charges.

Grace has stated that she is willing to hand over the properties if the current High Court proceedings end in favour of the children. Until the case is concluded, she intends to retain possession of everything under her care.
