Ten years have passed since hip-life artist Castro, known offstage as Theophilus Tagoe, vanished without a trace during a holiday excursion in Ada on July 6th, 2014.
Despite extensive search efforts and legal presumptions of death, Castro’s father, Mr. Coffie Eshun, remains steadfast in his belief that his son may still be alive.
In an emotional interview on Empire FM on Sunday, July 7, 2024 monitored by News & Vibes, Mr. Coffie shared his unwavering faith and suspicions of foul play surrounding Castro’s disappearance.
He expressed his determination to keep searching for his son, even in the face of legal assumptions.
Castro’s disappearance occurred while he was jet skiing with friends, including Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan.
The jet ski was recovered, but Castro’s body was never found, leaving his family and fans with a haunting mystery that refuses to fade.
While Ghana’s Evidence Act presumes death after seven years of absence, Mr. Coffie’s hope and determination highlight the enduring emotional turmoil and unanswered questions surrounding Castro’s disappearance.
The case remains a poignant reminder of the power of faith and the human spirit in the face of uncertainty.
Ghana’s Evidence Act, 1975 (N.R.C.D. 323) –
“Where a person has not been heard of for seven years despite diligent effort to find that person, that person is presumed to be dead. There is no presumption as to the particular time when that person died.”
