Felix Ofosu Kwakye condemns attack on Class Media Journalist at Kasoa market fire scene

The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has strongly condemned the assault on a journalist of the Class Media Group by some personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

‎The Minister in a Facebook post on Monday January 5, 2925, described the attack on Samuel Addo as most unacceptable, stressing that journalists must be protected while carrying out their lawful duties. He assured the public that firm action will be taken against the rogue officers involved in the incident.

‎The assault happened at the Kasoa New Market, where a fire outbreak had occurred. Samuel Addo was filming an altercation between firefighters and some traders at the scene when he was attacked by GNFS personnel.

‎The incident has raised concerns about the safety of journalists, especially during emergency situations.

‎The Ministry of Information says it will work with the relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible are punished and that such incidents do not happen again.
