Lady Ophelia is a Ghanaian Gospel singer

After releasing her single ‘Ayeyie Awie,’ Gospel singer Lady Ophelia disclosed that a fellow Gospel singer once tried to introduce her to “certain” powers that could make the song an instant hit.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on February 11, 2026, Lady Ophelia said she was taken aback by the suggestion and immediately questioned what other power could make her song “blow” apart from God, since her faith is rooted in Him.

“A fellow gospel musician once tried to introduce me to certain ‘powers’ that would make my song blow up fast. I asked the person, apart from God, what other power are you talking about? She said the industry is not as simple as I think,” she narrated.

According to Lady Ophelia, the conversation happened while she was with her mother and the phone call was on speaker, allowing her mother, who is a pastor, to hear everything that was said.

“My mother, who is a pastor, was there and heard everything. She told me, ‘The day I decide to change my ways, God will deal with me.’ I also told her I have not made up my mind to stop following God. I believe I will get to my destination gradually,” Ophelia said.

The “Ayeyie Awie” hitmaker added that her focus has never been on how big her name becomes in the music industry, but on the impact her message has on listeners.

“It’s not about making a big name in the industry, but about the word that comes from you to impact a soul and lift someone out of their difficulties. That is what truly matters,” she added.

Although Lady Ophelia did not mention the name of the Gospel singer who tried to introduce her to “certain” powers to make her music an instant hit, she noted that the colleague has a few hit songs to their name.
