A group of Zoomlion workers is protesting after enduring several months without receiving their monthly stipends.
The workers, who have been struggling financially, are urging the authorities responsible for their payments to take immediate action.
Led by a representative, the workers expressed their frustration over the unpaid stipends, which have accumulated over a nine-month period.
They are entitled to a GHS250 monthly payment, but the delay has caused significant hardship, leaving many unable to meet basic needs.
In a statement, the group emphasised the dire financial situation they now face, with many workers unable to afford essentials for their families.
The group also highlighted the inadequacy of their GHS250 monthly stipend, pointing out that even when payments are made, the amount is insufficient to cover living expenses.
They are calling for not only the clearance of the arrears but also a reconsideration of the stipend amount, as many workers are falling into debt and struggling to maintain a decent standard of living.
As the protest continues, the workers hope that relevant authorities will step in to address the issue swiftly and help them secure a fairer wage, enabling them to live with dignity and meet their financial obligations.
