First Sky Group has invested over GH¢51 million in providing free dialysis treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital over the past eight years.

This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman, Mr Eric Seddy Kutortse, at the company’s 23rd anniversary celebration held on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The investment, according to Mr Kutortse, has benefited hundreds of kidney patients who would otherwise struggle to afford the costly treatment and represents one of the largest sustained private healthcare interventions in Ghana’s recent history.

Speaking at the Thanksgiving event attended by President John Dramani Mahama, the Executive Chairman said the initiative reflects First Sky Group’s commitment to supporting vulnerable Ghanaians while building a profitable business.

“Economic development loses its soul if it leaves the vulnerable behind,” Mr Kutortse said in his address to guests, including traditional rulers, religious leaders and business executives.

Dialysis treatment can cost patients several thousand cedis monthly, putting it beyond the reach of many families. First Sky Group’s sponsorship has covered these costs at Korle Bu, West Africa’s largest teaching hospital, since 2017.

The company thanked President Mahama’s administration for the Mahama CARE initiative, which now absorbs dialysis costs nationwide. With that burden lifted, First Sky Group has redirected its healthcare spending towards kidney transplant services.

Last year alone, the company fully sponsored six kidney transplants performed in Ghana. “These are lives restored, families reunited and hope reclaimed,” Mr Kutortse said.

The healthcare support forms part of First Sky Group’s broader corporate philosophy established at its founding — to be useful to Ghana, to humanity and to God.

The company, which started as a single construction firm, now employs over 6,000 people across eight subsidiaries, including construction, insurance, hotels, commodities trading, bitumen processing, energy and rural banking.

First Sky Group also reported that 40 staff members have become Christians through the company’s annual religious services, including five who converted from other faiths. Two have expressed interest in attending Bible school.

The anniversary celebration, held under the theme “Proclaiming the Mighty Deeds of the Lord,” brought together Rev. Alex Sujith from the United Kingdom, Rev. Prof. Frimpong Manso, immediate past General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, and 22 paramount chiefs from the Volta Region.

First Sky Group Chairman told President Mahama that the company recognised “the grace with which you have carried the mandate entrusted to you by the people of Ghana” during his first year back in office and prayed for continued wisdom and strength.

The healthcare spending demonstrates how Ghanaian businesses can address critical gaps in public services while maintaining commercial viability. Mr Kutortse emphasised that integrity has remained central to the company’s operations throughout its growth.

“From the very beginning, we made a decision that in all our business operations, we would operate with integrity,” he said. “That standard has not changed with success.”

The GH¢51 million dialysis programme, combined with the kidney transplant sponsorships, has provided life-saving treatment to patients who might otherwise have faced death or financial ruin.
