Former GCX CEO Joins Unilever Ghana as Non-Executive Director

Unilever Ghana Plc has appointed Mrs. Setutsi Goka Ivowi, popularly known as Tucci Ivowi, as a Non-Executive Director effective October 1, 2025. The decision aligns with the company’s broader agenda to reinforce its corporate governance framework and integrate diverse professional expertise into its leadership structure.

Mrs. Ivowi is a seasoned professional with more than twenty years of experience in marketing, business strategy, and management across the consumer goods and manufacturing industries. Her addition to the Board reflects Unilever Ghana’s focus on strengthening strategic oversight while fostering innovation and market relevance.

Before joining Unilever’s Board, Mrs. Ivowi served as Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX), where she played a transformative role in reshaping Ghana’s commodities market. Her leadership advanced agricultural trade efficiency, expanded market access for smallholder farmers, and promoted transparency within the commodities value chain. She also spearheaded the creation of the AfCFTA Association of Commodities Exchanges, establishing a collaborative platform for regional trade growth.

Prior to her tenure at GCX, Mrs. Ivowi held several high-profile positions at Nestlé, working across regions including the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. At Nestlé Central & West Africa Ltd., she became both the first female and first Ghanaian Executive Director, overseeing operations in 22 countries and leading business transformation efforts that emphasized purpose-driven and innovative growth.

Her earlier professional journey included collaborations with Unilever and British American Tobacco as a trusted marketing and branding partner. These engagements deepened her understanding of consumer psychology and brand connection, enriching her holistic approach to business leadership.

Mrs. Ivowi’s appointment marks a symbolic return to Unilever—this time as part of the company’s top decision-making body. Her strategic insight, leadership experience, and commitment to sustainability are expected to play a key role in shaping Unilever Ghana’s next phase of growth.

She joins Ms. Angela Kyeremanten-Jimoh, Mr. Peterson Ekow Afedzie, and Mr. Djabanor Narh, who have also been appointed as Non-Executive Directors, all taking effect from October 1, 2025. Together, these appointments highlight Unilever Ghana’s continuous effort to foster robust governance and diverse leadership capable of driving long-term value creation.
