Shalimar Abbuisi, the former spokesperson for The New Force, has publicly distanced herself from the political movement and its affiliated structures, issuing a stern warning against what she describes as the continued unauthorised use of her name, image, voice and personal content.
In a statement dated April 28, 2026, Ms. Abbuisi said she had become aware of plans by associates of The New Force, the New Africa Foundation and the New Africa Congress, including Ghanaian businessman and political figure Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar or Freedom Jacob Caesar, to potentially release new content featuring her likeness.
She indicated that the development comes in spite of a formal cease-and-desist notice served on April 13, 2026, through her lawyers, Merton & Everett LLP, which demanded an immediate stop to the use of her identity and the withdrawal of all materials suggesting continued affiliation with the group.
According to her, no response had been received to the legal notice, a situation she said had made it necessary to go public in order to protect her reputation and clarify her position.
Ms. Abbuisi stressed that she is no longer associated in any capacity with The New Force or its affiliated entities, adding that she does not represent, speak for, or work with any of the organisations or individuals mentioned.
She further stated that any previous consent granted for the use of her image, voice or other personal content had been formally revoked, emphasising that past participation in activities linked to the group could not be interpreted as ongoing or indefinite permission.
The former spokesperson cautioned that any continued publication, circulation or use of materials featuring her likeness by the said organisations or their associates would be considered unauthorised.
She also directed media houses, bloggers, social media users and political communicators to refrain from sharing or amplifying any such content, warning that doing so could have legal consequences.
Ms. Abbuisi added that she had instructed her legal team to take appropriate steps to safeguard her rights should any further alleged breaches occur, signalling her readiness to pursue legal remedies if necessary.
She concluded by appealing for respect for her privacy and professional independence, noting that she is currently transitioning into a new phase of her career focused on diplomatic engagements and humanitarian work, away from her previous political associations.
