Four arrested at Fomena for attacking an Okada driver

The police at Fomena in the Ashanti Region have arrested four suspects for attacking an Okada rider on February 22, 2026.

According to a statement released by the Ghana police service on February 28, 2026, the victim reported to the Fomena Police Station with a machete wound on his left toe.

He informed the officers that he was ambushed while returning from Old Ayase after dropping off a passenger.

The victim further said that about ten tricycle riders had barricaded a section of the road with their tricycles and other objects.

The group allegedly attacked him, inflicted a machete wound on his leg, and fled with his unregistered Haojin motorbike valued GH¢15,00.

Officers from the Ashanti South Police command, upon the complaint, acted quickly, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

“Acting swiftly on the complaint, officers arrested suspects Adom Peter, Abdul Zakari, Andy Benjamin, and one juvenile offender within Fomena township the same day to assist with investigations,” the statement indicated.

“During the operation, police retrieved the victim’s Haojin motorbike, one machete, one tricycle machine, and its ignition keys,” it added.

The command through statement assured the public of its dedication to protecting lives and property.

It also advised citizens to provide timely information to support ongoing crime prevention.
