Four people who lost their lives in the recent Nkwanta South conflict in the Oti region have been laid to rest in accordance with Muslim rites, as insecurity continues to grip the area.
Among the deceased were 77-year-old Nana Achinake Iddrisu, 24-year-old Fusheni Achinake, and 17-year-old Nuhu Achinake.
The three were reportedly attacked and burnt beyond recognition while working on their farm.
The fourth victim, 27-year-old Shadrack Dotse, was killed by unknown assailants in the Tuobodom suburb, further deepening fear and tension in the community.
The ongoing insecurity has also disrupted social services, with 23 public and private schools remaining closed to safeguard students and staff amid the volatile situation.
Authorities are yet to bring the situation under full control, as residents continue to call for increased security presence and swift interventions to restore calm.
Meanwhile, the Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, is expected to visit the affected communities today to assess the situation and engage stakeholders as part of efforts to address the crisis.
