Four Workers of Bills Micro-Finance Arrested for Alleged Assault on Client

The police have arrested four workers of Bills Micro-Finance Company for allegedly physically assaulting a female client who owes the company at Ashongman Estate.

Their arrest by the Kwabenya District Police Command on March 14, 2026, followed a complaint by the victim, identified as Hagar Emaser, aged 42.

“On 13th March 2026, Madam Hagar Emaser, aged 42, reported to the Police that four men, officials from Bills Microfinance Company from which she had obtained a loan facility, visited her residence to demand repayment and allegedly assaulted her during the process,” a police statement reported.

The workers have been identified as Denis Wornyo, aged 38; Albert Amarh, aged 40; Ebenezer Amartei, aged 23; and Atsu Lawson, aged 27.

The police have since obtained the investigation caution statements from all four suspects who are currently in Police custody, assisting with investigations.

It further directed all victims of assault and any other criminal acts to report such incidents to the police for immediate investigation, while cautioning persons with grievances relating to loan transactions or other civil matters to seek lawful and peaceful means of resolution.
