The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has held its First Quarter Ministerial Advisory Board Meeting, bringing together members to deliberate on key policy directions and strategic priorities for the year.

The Minister noted that the Advisory Board plays a critical role in providing strategic guidance, reviewing policies and programmes, and supporting the Ministry to effectively deliver on its mandate.

She emphasised that the Board’s expertise and counsel remain essential in strengthening accountability and ensuring that interventions reach the most vulnerable in society.

Reflecting on the Ministry’s performance, the Minister indicated that significant strides were made in 2025, describing it as a foundation year that has set the pace for advancing the reset agenda of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

She highlighted the successful approval of key policies, including those on Early Childhood Care and Development, Disability, Domestic Violence, and the Social Protection Act, as well as the passage of the Social Protection Bill to strengthen the legal framework for implementation.

She expressed appreciation to members of the Board for their unwavering support and contributions, which she said were instrumental in achieving these milestones, and called for sustained collaboration in the year ahead.

The Minister also introduced the new Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr Marian Kpakpah, and formally welcomed her to the Board by administering the Oath of Office and Secrecy.

She urged members to support the Chief Director in driving the Ministry’s programmes and achieving its objectives.

In her remarks, the Chief Director pledged to bring her expertise to bear in advancing the Ministry’s mandate, assuring the Board of her commitment to teamwork, efficiency, and results-oriented service delivery.

The Minister reiterated that 2026 would focus on translating policy gains with a strong emphasis on accountability, inclusion, and the overarching goal of leaving no one behind.
