The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has conducted a review of the National Plan of Action (NPA) for the Elimination of Human Trafficking in Ghana to enhance its implementation, clarity, and effectiveness.

The review meeting, convened by the Human Trafficking Secretariat (HTS) brought together key actors across Government, civil society, and development partners.

In her opening remarks, the Director of the Human Trafficking Secretariat, Madam Abena Annobea Asare, underscored the importance of strengthening the Plan to respond decisively to evolving human trafficking challenges.

Deliberations focused on refining the Terms of Reference (TOR) to ensure clarity and effectiveness, and on validating the timeline for the Plan’s implementation to guarantee timely and results-driven action.

The Meeting further assessed progress under the existing framework and identified areas requiring reinforced coordination, data management, and operational alignment among implementing agencies.

The review outcomes will guide the finalisation of a strengthened National Plan of Action, providing a clear roadmap for interventions in prevention, protection, prosecution, and partnership.

MoGCSP reaffirmed its commitment to lead national efforts in eliminating human trafficking and safeguarding the rights and reintegration of victims, with a particular focus on women and children who remain most vulnerable.
