The country’s most influential General Counsels and heads of legal departments will converge on Accra on February 25 for the second edition of the Legal 500’s GC Powerlist.
The return to Ghana for a second edition held in partnership with ENS, reinforces the country’s growing profile as a key destination for recognising excellence in in-house legal leadership across Africa.
It follows the success of the inaugural GC Powerlist: Ghana 2025 event, which shone a spotlight on the calibre of in-house legal professionals driving business strategy across some of Ghana’s leading corporations.
“The response to our inaugural event was a testament to the depth of legal talent in this market, and we look forward to once again celebrating the outstanding General Counsels who are shaping Ghana’s business landscape,” a release from the organisers stated.
The GC Powerlist, which spans jurisdictions across Africa, Europe and beyond, recognises General Counsels who have moved beyond traditional advisory roles to become strategic business partners within their organisations.
According to the release, honourees were selected against exacting standards, with recognition going to those who manage significant legal operations, navigate complex regulatory environments and contribute meaningfully to their organisations’ commercial success.
“Past editions have featured General Counsels from major corporations across sectors, including energy, financial services and consumer goods.
“As Ghana’s legal market continues to mature and attract international attention, organisers say the Powerlist serves as an important platform for showcasing the in-house legal talent helping to shape the country’s economic direction,” it said.
