The Ghana Education Service (GES) has made provision to support online/off-campus teaching and learning for students in transition schools in the 2025/2026 academic calendar for double-track institutions.

The online/off-campus periods have, thus, been captured on the academic calendar, indicating when they are to be held.

“Management has put in place these varied arrangements to ensure that every student gets the opportunity to participate in the online/off-campus teaching and learning through at least one of the avenues.

“The online/off-campus periods are not vacations or breaks; they are counted and considered a mandatory part of teaching and learning,” it said in a statement confirming the 2025-2026 academic calendar.

Self-learning

Under the provisions, projects and assignments of students are supported and guided through self-learning by undertaking the projects, tasks and assignments in the approved textbooks and curriculum resources.

The statement, signed by the Head of Public Relations of the GES, Daniel Fenyi, said all the approved textbooks and curriculum resources, for all levels and subjects, were accessible on the site: curriculumresources.edu.gh for free.

Secondly, it said that on television broadcast, lessons shall be broadcast live daily on the Ministry of Education TV (MoE TV), available on Multi TV.

Moreover, it said schools that had and operated learning management systems were urged to fully operationalise them during the online/off-campus periods. Management, it said, would support such schools.

Note

The management of the GES, therefore, urged all heads of schools, teachers, parents and guardians to take careful note of the arrangements, support and supervise students to fully access and participate in the online/off-campus engagements.

Per the academic calendar, which the GES said remained unchanged, first-year students in transitional schools are to participate in the online/off-campus programme from January 5 to January 30, 2026.

From May 18, 2026, they would continue with the online/off-campus studies up to June 12, 2026.
