The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has imposed a fine of GH¢10,000 on Asante Kotoko for misconduct during their Ghana Premier League encounter against Medeama SC.
The sanction follows incidents that occurred during the league match played at the Baba Yara Stadium, where Kotoko fought back from a losing position to secure a dramatic 2–2 draw.
In a statement, the GFA disclosed that Asante Kotoko were found guilty of failing to adequately ensure the safety and security of match officials.
The club was further cited for allowing sections of their supporters to threaten and physically attack officials during and after the match.
Additionally, Kotoko were charged for permitting unauthorised individuals to gain access to restricted zones of the stadium, including the players’ tunnel—an act deemed to be in clear violation of matchday safety and security regulations.
As a result of these breaches, the Disciplinary Committee ruled that the club must pay a fine of GH¢10,000 within fourteen days of receiving formal notification of the decision.
