The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced an extension to the timeline for its current nationwide recruitment. The decision follows technical difficulties experienced on the official online application system, which affected the ability of prospective applicants to complete their submissions.
The updated deadline means candidates now have until November 7, 2025, to access the digital platform and finalise their applications. The recruitment programme, which opened on October 1, 2025, is running through designated centres across all 16 regions as part of a national plan to enlist 12,000 personnel over the next three years.
Applicants are required to purchase a GH¢200 electronic voucher from authorised Ghana Post outlets before using the official portal. Positions are available across the Army, Navy and Air Force, with eligibility strictly reserved for Ghanaian citizens of good conduct. Age requirements remain between 18 and 25 for non-trades roles, and up to 27 for trades applicants.
The Armed Forces has cautioned candidates to be vigilant as cybercriminals attempt to exploit the exercise. Several fraudulent recruitment accounts have recently appeared on platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, misleading the public with unofficial links and false promises. Security agencies have already detected dozens of these schemes within a short period.
Officials insist that legitimate updates concerning recruitment procedures can only be sourced from the state dailies and the verified GAF channels. They also maintain that the selection process will reflect transparency and merit rather than financial influence.
With the revised application window now active, interested individuals have an additional week to complete and submit their forms exclusively through the official website.
