The Ghana-China Business Chamber of Commerce has stepped in to address the furniture deficit at Achimota Senior High School with a donation of 50 state-of-the-art student desks.
The modern furniture, presented by the Chamber’s Chairman, Liu Wen Min, is aimed at replacing the school’s obsolete and dilapidated desks, which have long affected teaching and learning.
Mr Wen Min said the gesture was the Chamber’s corporate social responsibility towards the school, adding that he was personally touched by the poor condition of some of the school’s chairs and desks.
Consultations
“After a few enquiries and consultations with the Chamber, we decided to help acquire these state-of-the-art furniture for the school,” he said during the presentation held at the school premises last Monday.
Receiving the donation, the Headmaster of Achimota Senior High School, Ebenezer Graham Acquaah, expressed delight at the gesture.
He thanked Mr Wen Min and the Chamber for their support and promised to put the desks to good use.
He further appealed for more assistance in other areas where the school may need help.
