The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar has announced an emergency evacuation exercise for Ghanaian citizens living in Qatar following rising security concerns in the region as a result of the ongoing attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel.

In a statement released by the embassy in Doha on Saturday, March 15, 2026, the mission referred to its earlier notice issued on March 6, 2026, and informed Ghanaians that the Government of Ghana has decided to organize the evacuation due to the heightened security situation.

According to the statement, the arrangement is strictly a one-way evacuation from Qatar to Ghana for citizens who wish to return home immediately.

The embassy has therefore urged Ghanaians interested in the evacuation to reconfirm their participation by submitting the biodata page of their passports via email to doha@mfa.gov.gh.

Applicants have been given a deadline of Tuesday, March 17, 2026, to send their details.

The embassy further encouraged all Ghanaian nationals in Qatar who wish to take part in the exercise to respond quickly in order to facilitate the evacuation process.
