The Ghana Navy has busted a Bunkering syndicate, seizing 162 25-litre-gallons and 32 200-litre-barrels of fuel.

The intelligence-led operation by personnel from Naval Base Nutekpor took place on January 13, 2026, along the Abeliakorpe and Atokukorpe landing beaches in Aflao, Volta Region.

The coordinated raid, which took place from 0500 to 1340 hours, targeted several stash houses and makeshift structures.

In a related operation on Thursday, January 15, 2026, the Ghana Navy again accosted seven modified, specially built canoes known as Dendes, suspected of illicit bunkering along the Keta-Denu-Aflao coastline in the Volta Region.
