Ahead to the December elections, Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin gave a sobering speech to Ghanaians at a press conference held in Accra on Friday, April 19.
Afenyo-Markin raised concerns about the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leader, John Dramani Mahama, pointing out that the party may not be able to provide novel answers to the problems facing the country.
As Mahama’s possible one-term presidency approaches, Afenyo-Markin expressed worries about the NDC’s leadership’s apparent lack of urgency in administration.
Considering Mahama’s past terms as president and vice president, Afenyo-Markin underlined the necessity of a fresh strategy to deal with Ghana’s urgent problems.
In support of a different vision, the Majority Leader emphasized how Dr. Bawumia might guide Ghana into a more promising future. Praiseing Bawumia’s vision for the nation and his leadership abilities, Afenyo-Markin portrayed him as a ray of light in these uncertain times.
In addition, the Majority Leader questioned Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, the running mate of the NDC, about her record of developing infrastructure in the Central Region. This criticism emphasized the Majority’s support for Bawumia’s leadership by pointing to his ability to bring about noticeable advancements for the country.
