A 54-member engineer contingent from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) assisting in the country’s rebuilding has been granted a 60-day stay extension.

This followed a request by the Jamaican Government for an extension of “Operation Boafo”

The team was initially scheduled to stay for 30 days; however, with the approval of the request by the Ghanaian government, they will stay for 90 days.

In a statement, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said Ghana’s foreign policy would no longer be defined by how much we can take from others but by how much we can share with friends in distress.
