Maa Sarah, a Ghanaian woman who is currently living in the US and goes by Adwoa Paulkan, has opened up about her difficult and emotional experience of being married for 23 years without having children.
She talked candidly about the social expectations and personal challenges she has had as a result of her childless marriage in a recent interview with GhPage monitored by News & Vibes.
Maa Sarah acknowledged that her inability to procreate has caused her anxiety and criticism despite her substantial riches.
She related a particularly upsetting experience she had at church, where a fellow member loudly chastised her for not being a parent.
Maa Sarah commended her husband for his constant love and faithfulness during their marriage, stressing that he has never wandered or fathered children outside of their marriage.
She regretted that not everyone in their immediate vicinity had shown them the same consideration and empathy.
In her interview, Maa Sarah stressed the psychological cost and social stigma associated with such personal challenges and advised people to be more understanding and thoughtful of individuals going through similar experiences.
