Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is the Minister of Foreign Affairs
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to global solidarity, stressing that the country’s foreign policy is anchored in unity and humanitarian support.
According to him, despite years of attempts to divide Africans, such efforts have failed, underscoring the enduring bond and sense of togetherness among Africans and their descendants.
Speaking at the Diaspora Summit 2025 on Friday, December 19, 2025, Ablakwa stated that Ghana’s foreign policy remains rooted in solidarity rather than selfish interests.

He noted that Ghana continues to provide humanitarian assistance to nations in distress.
“What we hear today are the answers to those prayers. We are bound by a shared history and the spirit of resilience. We are committed to reshaping a better future for Africa and for all people of African descent. We have come together to deepen the global conversation currently being held on confronting historical and contemporary injustices through reparative justice,” he said.
He added that Ghana ranks seventh globally and second in Africa in terms of troop contributions to United Nations peacekeeping and ECOWAS missions.
This, he stressed, has strengthened Ghana’s diplomatic engagements across the continent and expanded its outreach to the Caribbean and Palestine.
