The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) has carried out an on-site assessment of rural telephony infrastructure in several communities within the Ellembelle Municipality of the Western Region.
Led by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Ms. Francisca Mawufemor Adjei, a technical team visited communities including Aluku, Dump, Aidoosuazo, and Atuabo to evaluate current network coverage, identify connectivity gaps, and determine the infrastructure needed to improve telecommunication services.
The District Chief Executive of Ellembelle, Joseph Kwesi Armah Agyekum, joined the team throughout the inspection.
The exercise is part of GIFEC’s ongoing efforts to expand access to electronic communications in unserved and underserved areas, bridging the digital divide and enhancing connectivity nationwide.
Findings from the site visits will inform the planning and rollout of future projects, ensuring residents in these communities gain access to reliable and efficient telecommunication services.
