Founder of World Wide Ministries, also known as The Hill City Church, Prophet John Anokye, has called on the government to include retired men of God in governance to contribute to nation-building.

He said these elderly men of God, who are no longer in active ministry, will serve a good purpose for the nation.

At a press launch of the church’s 10th anniversary in East Legon on Monday, February 9, 2026, he highlighted that seasoned pastors, who have led churches for years, possess valuable leadership experience and can drive impactful policies that benefit their communities.

“Everybody can attest to the fact that distinguished pastors who have actually led the church for many years are more experienced in the best policies that help better the lives of the people of God in the church,” he stated.

Prophet Anokye stressed that involving seasoned pastors in nation-building would be more impactful than relying on individuals who’ve merely studied governance for personal gain, noting that the latter have often failed the country.

He urged the government to include pastors in key roles such as institution trustees, economic empowerment initiatives, and sensitive ministries, believing this would boost accountability and drive national development.

“Involving veteran pastors in nation building would be more impactful than people who have just studied political science to just extort money from the nation.

“Pastors should be incorporated into the board of trustees in various institutions, the economic empowerment of the people, the Finance Ministry, and other sensitive ministries that will be more accountable to the people; I think that will help impact the nation, and we will also observe greater development in our land,” Prophet Anokye asserted.

Touting the church’s social impact programme, he said they have given scholarships to young people from within and outside the church.

As part of activities marking the anniversary, the church will make donations to orphanages and hospitals and climax the celebrations on Sunday.
