Lawrence Osei Baffour has left Heart of Lions for a life abroad
Heart of Lions goalkeeper Lawrence Osei Baffour has reportedly left the club unannounced, having been spotted in the United States despite still being under contract with the Kpando-based side.
The 30-year-old, who has been a standout performer since joining the Lions in 2021, has featured 17 times this season, helping the team to a seventh-place standing, though his save percentage currently sits at 21.4%.
Baffour, who was voted Goalkeeper of the Month for November 2025, missed the club’s last two matches against Bechem United and Asante Kotoko, sparking speculations among fans and teammates.
The mystery surrounding his absence was confirmed after he shared new photos and a video on his TikTok page, showing himself on a plane en route to the United States.
In one clip, he was seen shoveling snow, captioned: “Left home with a dream, now chasing it.”
Since his arrival at Heart of Lions, Baffour has been a sensation, known for his commanding presence between the posts and key saves that have kept the team competitive in the league.
His sudden departure has raised questions over the quality of player wages in the Ghana Premier League.
The club has yet to release an official statement regarding the goalkeeper’s status, leaving fans and analysts debating the implications of his unannounced exit.
