A revocation committee, chaired by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has been established to examine these appointments and dismissals on a case-by-case basis. Workers whose appointments were properly executed will be reinstated, while those found to have bypassed due process will remain dismissed.

The review comes after allegations emerged that the previous government, following the 2024 elections, rushed last-minute civil service appointments without adhering to recruitment protocols. The new administration, under President John Dramani Mahama, subsequently revoked some of these appointments, triggering criticism from the public. Many accused the government of attempting to create opportunities for its own party members, as the affected employees were perceived to have affiliations with the previous ruling party.

Kwakye Ofosu clarified that political affiliation is not the determining factor; the focus is on whether proper procedures were followed. The former administration, despite its eight-year tenure, allegedly made some appointments without adhering to required processes, which the current government is now correcting to uphold fairness and the rule of law.
