The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has officially questioned the academic credentials of the All People’s Congress (APC) leader, Hassan Ayariga, challenging his continued use of the “Dr.” title.
In a directive made public through a communiqué obtained by Gh Page, the Commission has called on the politician to immediately remove the academic prefix from his name unless he can substantiate its legitimacy with proper documentation.
GTEC maintains that its review of Ayariga’s educational background does not support the title he claims. The Commission argues that the politician has not demonstrated sufficient academic or professional achievement to justify the honorific.
The statement warned of possible repercussions should Ayariga fail to comply or present verifiable proof to support his use of the title. According to the Commission, the burden now rests on the APC leader to validate his claim or cease using the designation altogether.
As of now, Hassan Ayariga has not issued a response to the Commission’s position.
