The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged its members to remain calm and composed despite frustrations stemming from unmet expectations from the government.
Justice Yeboah, a Special Aide to the party’s National Chairman, acknowledged the frustration among party members who had counted on appointments and government contracts following the party’s ascension to power.
Speaking at the TEIN-USTED Freshers’ week celebration in Kumasi, he emphasized that constructive engagement is a better option for the party than attacking institutions and criticizing government officials over what they described as neglect.
According to him, if loyal members want the party to retain power in the next election, they should allow the government to govern without disruption.
“If the government is unable to govern peacefully due to disruptions and violence, it will lead to a more severe crisis, which is unlikely to help the party maintain its position of power,” said Justice.
He clarified that the President and appointees do not intend to ignore the members who worked tirelessly to bring the party to power.
Justice is confident that hard work will be rewarded, and by the end of President Mahama’s tenure, those who contributed to the party’s success will receive their rewards in good time.
He took a swipe at party members who have been vocal in criticizing government appointees, urging them to adopt a more measured and constructive approach.
He made a request to the party executives to communicate with the members and inform them about the government’s structure.
He encouraged members to focus on strengthening the party for future successes.
