Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu had a candid discussion during an interview that aired on UTV on October 12, 2024, shedding light on his ex-wife Naa Okailey Nyarko, their divorce, and her subsequent remarriage to a white man in the US.
As a guest on UTV’s United Showbiz, where Empress Gifty served as the host, Kwaku Manu openly shared that he did not harbor feelings of brokenheartedness upon discovering his ex-wife’s new relationship.
During a recent trip to the US, he explained that it was primarily to commemorate his birthday and film a movie series for his YouTube Channel focusing on the theme of heartbreak.
Delving deeper into his views on relationships and life, Kwaku Manu articulated that some connections are not meant to last forever, highlighting that while he did not enter marriage with the intention of divorce, he had embraced it as a part of life’s journey.
In the same interview, the Kumawood actor clarified that it was he who initiated the divorce.
Reflecting on the consequences of heartbreak and loss, Kwaku Manu expressed his steadfast resolve to not let such circumstances adversely affect his mental well-being, citing instances where love had driven individuals to madness or even premature death.
Resolute in his decision to prioritize his emotional and mental health, he stood firm in his belief that marriage should not be a detriment to one’s overall happiness and stability.
“Some of us understand life in the sense that we can start life with someone and not end with them. As for the divorce, I did not get married to divorce but it is part of life.”
