A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to recount her experience of dating a man who struggled with bedwetting, sparking widespread reactions online.
Sharing her story on X (formerly Twitter), the woman revealed that throughout their year-long relationship, her then-boyfriend would often wet the bed during the night.
According to her, mornings were a daily ritual of shame as he’d request her to carry his soaked mattress downstairs and wash the wet bedsheets — all to create the illusion that she was the one responsible for the incident.
She posted a video alongside the confession, saying, “Life so private, no one knows I dated a man that pees on himself at night.” She went on to say she often had to hide the mattress to prevent neighbors from finding out the real story.
In the comment section, she mentioned that the relationship lasted a full year and described how quickly she would rush to conceal the mattress each morning.
Her revelation triggered a wave of stunned and humorous responses from online users, many expressing disbelief over what people endure in relationships.
While some questioned why she stayed in the relationship, others wondered if money had played a role in her patience.
Comments like, “No be small thing de happen for this relationship thing o” and “I bet he had enough money cause what is this” flooded the thread.
Her story has since gone viral, highlighting the lengths people go to maintain relationships — even in the face of uncomfortable secrets.
