Ghanaian highlife legend Kwabena Kwabena has shared his perspective on awards, emphasising that his focus has always been on making music rather than chasing accolades.

“If you’ve followed me over the years, I’m not the award type. It’s good to be recognised and awarded, but I am not an award person. I just want to do music,” he said.

He added that, however, if fans or industry stakeholders consider him deserving of an award, he is open to it, but his priority remains the art itself.
