Kwasi Kwarteng is Spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong

Kwasi Kwarteng, Spokesperson for former New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong, has disclosed that he fully believed in the prophecy delivered by Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, Founder of Spiritlife Revival Ministries.

According to him, the man of God has a track record of prophecies that have come to pass, which gave him confidence in the prophecy concerning Kennedy Agyapong’s political future.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Joy Prime TV on Monday, February 16, 2026, Kwarteng recounted how Prophet El-Bernard had previously prophesied about former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo, and how that prophecy was fulfilled.

This, he explained, strengthened his conviction that Kennedy Agyapong was destined to become the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer.

“I have been under his ministration, and the prophecy was given in relation to Laurent Gbagbo’s arrest and detention. The prophecy was delivered directly to Laurent Gbagbo’s daughter.

“Four years on, I had the opportunity to work in the Ministry of Education, and I saw an alert through the media where the prophecy had been fulfilled,” he stated.

As a Christian, Kwarteng emphasised that the Bible instructs believers to trust in God’s word and in His prophets, leaving him no reason to doubt.

Although the prophecy did not materialise in the NPP’s flagbearer race, Kwarteng said that God has greater plans, noting that the voice of the people is often regarded as the voice of God, even if at times their collective will shapes the outcome differently.

He stated, “So, somebody like me had every basis to have full confidence in the prophecy, especially as a Christian. When the Bible has said, believe in my prophets and believe in my word, I didn’t have any basis to doubt. We were highly optimistic.

“At the end of the day, it didn’t materialise as such. For me, my understanding is that God has His own greater plans. And of course, they say the voice of the people has always been the voice of God. I do also know that sometimes there are exceptions — when the people are determined to move in a certain direction, even God can step aside and second their mercy.”
