Dear GhanaWeb,
There’s a 19-year-old girl in the same house I rented. She was going to school when we moved in here, but because she’s not completely normal, she was made to stop. She was just home. I think she was suffering from Down syndrome.
I also work from home. Her mom is the landlady and she’s mostly home with the girl. She has a shop, so most afternoons, she goes to the shop. That’s how I had access to this girl and started to have my way with her.
I’ve been doing that with her for over a year now. I’m not sure anyone knew about it because the girl barely expressed herself, but she liked it. She used to come to my place the moment no one was home.
I am the one who sends her away sometimes, when I don’t want it. Three days ago, something happened and the young lady died but I know nothing about it because I didn’t do anything.
She was at my place earlier that afternoon, because as usual, no one was home. We had sex and I asked her to go.
Later that same day, around 6 pm, her mother returned and she started shouting. She came to meet the girl lifeless.
I learnt that when she got back, the girl was lying by the entrance, cold and looking pale. No one knew what happened to her, including me. I was home, so I was asked if I saw her go out or anyone come in, but I said no.
I didn’t do anything to her either. Now that this has happened, I’m hearing rumors that I’ve been sleeping with her. People are saying I should be questioned and all that.
But I’ve decided to stay in the house confidently so I’m not suspected of something I didn’t even do. I want to know if it is possible that this will be linked to me? What do I do now?
